แนะนำ DreamLinux 2.2 RC1

บล็อกนี้ขอแนะนำลินุกส์ที่น่าสนใจให้เพื่อนๆได้รู้จักสักนิดนะครับ ถึงจะไม่ใช่ลินุกส์ที่เบสออน Ubuntu แต่ก็มีสายเลือดจากต้นตระกูลเดียวกันนั่นก็คือ Debian อีกอย่างก็จะได้ไม่ยึดติดกับดิสโตรใดดิสโตรหนึ่งมากเกินไป (หมกมุ่น) ดังคำสุภาษิตจีนโบราณที่กล่าวกันไว้ "รู้เขา รู้เรา รบร้อยครั้ง ชนะร้อยครั้ง" โลกทัศน์จะได้ไม่แคบ (นั่น!ว่าไปน่าน) ...

Dreamlinux ดูจากยี่ห้อแล้วจะแปลว่า "ลินุกส์ในผัน" หรือ "ลินุกส์ชวนฝัน" ก็ไม่ผิดกติกา แต่ถึงอย่างไรก็เป็นลินุกส์ในฝันของผู้จัดทำดิสโตรนี้เขาแหล่ะครับ และค่อนข้างจะมีเอกลักษณ์เป็นของตัวเองมากตัวหนึ่ง ไม่ใช่ประใช่ประเภทการนำดิสโตรอื่นๆมาต่อยอดเล็กน้อย แล้วมาโม้ให้ดูกัน ...

DreamLinux เป็นลินุกส์ดิสโตรอีกตัวหนึ่งที่จัดอยู่ในประเภท "Out of Box" หรือ "ออกนอกกรอบ" แต่ผมมักจะเรียกดิสโตรประเภทนี้ว่า "ลินุกส์พร้อมใช้" หมายถึงลินุกส์ที่สามารถใช้งานได้ทันทีตั้งแต่เป็น LiveCD โดยไม่ต้องติดตั้งอะไรเพิ่มเติมอีกแล้ว โดยเฉพาะเรื่อง ดูหนัง-ฟังเพลง-ดูคลิปผ่านเน็ต หรือจะเรียกว่าเป็น "ลินุกส์พกพา" ก็เป็นไปได้ ติดตัวไว้ไปไหนมาไหน อยากใช้งาน หาเครื่องแล้วเสียบซีดีก็ใช้งานได้แล้ว สะดวกดีนิ (แหว่ะ) เท่าที่เคยสัมผัสกับเวอร์ชั่นก่อนหน้านี้ ผมค่อนข้างชอบนะ ระบบไหลลื่นดีแม้ขณะใช้งาน LiveCD แพ็คเกจประกอบต่างๆที่อยู่ภายดิสโตรก็ล้วนคัดสรรแต่ของดีหรือของที่นิยม นำมาปรุงแต่งผสมคละเคล้า จนเป็นเอกลักษณ์ของตัวเองในที่สุด ...

สำหรับ Desktop Manager เขาเลือกใช้ Xfce ซึ่งเราก็รับทราบกันมาแล้วว่า Xfce เป็น DM ที่มีขนาดกระทัดรัด กินทรัพยากรน้อย แต่ประสิทธิภาพยังอาจด้วยกว่า DM รุ่นใหญ่ เช่น KDE หรือ Gnome แต่ก็ถือว่าเป็นทางหนึ่งที่น่าสนใจ สำหรับ DreamLinux 2.2 เขาเลือกใช้ Xfce 4.4 จากหน้าตาธีมเดสก์ทอปเขาสวยงามมากๆ มีส่วนละม้ายคล้ายกับ OSX มากทีเดียว เห็นครั้งแรกก็ประทับใจซะแล้ว (First Impression)

แอพพลิเคชั่นที่เขาให้มานั้น ก็เป็นค่อนข้างจิ๊ดจ๊าด ล้วนเป็นที่นิยมใช้แทบทั้งสิ้น

ยัง! ยังไม่หมด มีอีกนะครับ สำหรับ Desktop Effect ที่ควงสว่านและกำลังเป็นที่ฮือฮาอยู่ในขณะนี้ DreamLinux 2.2 เขาก็จัดให้ เป็น Beryl 2.0 และยังมีออพชั่นไดร์เวอร์ดิสเพลย์ให้เลือกติดตั้งอีก 2 ตัวคือ Nvidia กับ ATi เป็นไงล่ะครับ จ๊าบมั้ย! ยังมีต่ออีกครับ หากเราไม่พอใจนำมาตบแต่งเพิ่มเติมต่างหากจากเดิม DreamLinux เขายังมีฟังค์ชั่นให้ผู้ใช้ Remaster ลินุกส์ของเราจากเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ เขียนเป็น LiveCD/DVD อีกต่างหาก ... เป็นยังไงเล่า จอร์จ ...

อยากฝันเหมือนผมก็ลองกันดูนะครับ ถ้าดาวน์โหลดก็ให้ดูให้ดีนะครับ เขามีรุ่นธรรมดา กับรุ่นพิเศษ(ตัวนี้แนะนำ) และดูให้ดีอีกว่าที่คุณกำลังดาวน์โหลดจะใช้ภาษาอะไรด้วย เดี๋ยวจะหาว่าหล่อไม่เดือน ...
